S88/S88-N Family of printed circuit boards ready for use!

1. BMD16N-SD: 16 fold current detection based train detector with S88 and S88-N interfaces

bmd16n-SD photos88n logo A 16 fold track train detector for self building purposes with S88 and S88-N interfaces using RJ45 connectors and CAT5 UTP cabling has been developed by Huib Maaskant and myself.

We have developed the S88-N version of this printed circuit board holding several new features. The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is delivered with a comprehensive booklet for helping you out building this device. More information: click here

You can also direct order them on Huib Maaskants website:

2. BMD16N: 16 fold S88 compliant decoder with S88 and S88-N interfaces

bmd16n photo s88n logo Brother of the BMD16N-SD this BMD16N device is completely compliant to ' normal' S88 detectors like Marklin S88 or Viessmann 5217. It can be connected to any S88 interface from Twin Center, Intellibox, Marklin System, etc.

Next to this it holds S88-N interfaces using RJ45 connectors and UTP cabling. The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is delivered with a comprehensive booklet for helping you out building this device.

3. S88-N <-> S88 interface adapter

s88n adapter photo s88n logo In order to be able to connect your Intellibox or other S88 compatible control device to S88-N Huib and I developed a S88 to S88-N adapter.

The PCB also holds a version for S88-N towards S88 when you still have S88 devices you want to put in the S88-N bus.

Weissenfels layout

V160 in a winter wonderland
V160

The new V160 074 from Brawa is taking five Umbauer coaches to the next station! A very good (and heavy) locomotive, nicely detailed and performing very well on my layout. Next to this loco and coaches I also could buy the new Silberlinge from Roco. They are built into a fixed train of V100 with these three coaches.

Not much has happened further on the layout, but still... new photographs can be found here

Building a frieze
Frieze I wrote a page on the subject of how to build a "frieze". A frieze is used to make a nice finish on the layout on the ceiling by screening the lights on the ceiling. The page can be found here.
